Sundays with Sophie

Hello lovelies!  It's fall y'all - and we have been having some great weather in Vancity.  Today, Sophie discovered how much fun it is to rip up colorful fall leaves in our backyard.

Daddy's out of town for work, so I've been keeping myself busy - making party supplies for Sophie's upcoming Winter ONEderland birthday party!  This weekend, I made her snowflake ONE glitter banner, and completed the tags to name the food with. Here's a sneak peak at what the tags look like.

Since Nick is out of town, I've been taking advantage of the fact that I don't have to cook!  Lime/cumin/chillies edamame for the dinner win.

Lastly, Sophie made her debut on the Flash this week, as baby Iris - so just wanted to share a few quick photos from when we shot on set.  Her TV mom was on Melrose Place, and also was in Candyman, New Jack City and Soul Food.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend. xox

ALOHA MAUI! Part 6

Day 5.

Our last day in Maui!  Our day started with breakfast brought up to our balcony.

Then, we went snorkelling in Wailea!  I saw the most amazing colorful fishies, and even a baby octopus in the reef.  Then we dried up on our beach lounge chairs, before heading back over to the serenity pool.

We had just enough time for one last drink in the Serenity Pool, before heading upstairs to clean up and check out.

After checking out, we headed over to Makena to explore Big Beach.

We ended up spending the remaining of the day at Big Beach and headed over to Little Beach to watch the sun go down over the Molokini Crater.

We headed towards the airport, and stopped for a quick vegetarian bowl of pho, before departing Maui.

Maui was the best vacation we ever had, and I'm so glad we chose it for our first wedding anniversary destination.

ALOHA MAUI! Part 5

Ultimate Dinner

Our server, Jery, met us at our room and escorted us down to our private table. This was beyond romantic.

Candles, champagne, flowers... and the most amazing menus catered just for us.

We had the most delicious 8 coursed meal created just for us, accompanied by cocktails, champagne and decaf Kona coffee.

We started with 2 amuse dishes to snack on with our rose champagne.

And then we had our menu paired with cocktails to match.

After the most romantic meal we ever had, we headed back on up to our room to find copies of our menus autographed by the chef, and also pictures they took of us throughout the course of our meal.  Best. Meal. Ever.

ALOHA MAUI! Part 4

Day 4.

Day 4 started off with an impromptu trip to Kihei for breakfast at Kihei café.  We were headed over to Lahaina, as my aunt and grandma were on a cruise that happened to stop by Maui.  We didn't happen to see them, so we headed into town to Request Records for some vinyl shopping.

After picking up a few gems, like Whitney Houston, we headed over to the airport for our Maui Spectacular helicopter tour.  This was a 90 min tour of Maui, with a stop on top of Maui summit where we got to toast with champagne made out of pineapples.  It was beyond tasty!

We saw such amazing views from our Helicopter ride, like the Road to Hana, Jaws surf, and an abundance of random waterfalls, and of course spectacular views along Maui summit.

After an amazing helicopter tour, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for our private Ultimate Dinner.

ALOHA MAUI! Part 3

Wailea - Four Seasons Maui

We arrived at the Four Seasons Wailea, a little bit prior to check in time, as we were hoping to drop off our bags so we could explore some more.  This hotel, blew me away.

When we arrived, the hotel parking option is only valet.  They not only take your bags and open the door - but they asked us if they could remove our empty water bottles and clean our car so it was spotless upon return.  Then the staff presented us with fresh leis, lavender scented face clothes to cool down with, and mint ginger lemonade and fresh pineapple while we checked in.

I had booked the cheaper room option (garden view) for $499/night, but when we checked in, they asked if we would like a discounted room upgrade to an ocean view (normally $699) for only $50/night more.  Of course we took this deal.  Our room wasn't ready yet, but we dropped off our bags, and they advised us they would call when our room was ready.  We quickly explored their lobby and were amazed with the most gorgeous fountain/swimming pools.  These pools were kid friendly, but we were definitely looking forward to checking out the adult only infinity pools.

Then off we went to explore.

We stumbled upon a hidden gem not too far from our hotel.  This was the perfect spot to chill, and soak up the quieter part of Hawaii.

After our beach hangs, we headed over to Kihei for some shopping and lunch.  I loved shopping in Kihei.  More than I loved shopping in Lahaina.  We found some surf décor, pineapple shaped wooden bowls, and the coolest skate shop.  After getting our shopping fix on, we had some happy hour fish tacos, and took a quick selfie in Kihei, before heading back to our hotel.

Once we actually checked into our room, we were surprised to find a bottle of champagne and fresh fruit congratulating us on our wedding anniversary.

We had such a gorgeous view from our balcony again.

We also had the most amazing marble bathroom.

So we headed downstairs to check out the adult only Serenity Pool and swim up bar, but first we met with Chef Vincent in the lobby who was preparing us our Ultimate Dinner for the following day.  It was basically 10 questions about what we like, don't like, etc.  It was so exciting to know that he was putting together a custom menu just for us.  He was even flying in duck just for me :)

And then we headed over to the beach to catch the sunset.

After watching the sun go down, we headed back upstairs to enjoy our champagne and fruit.
