Weekend Recap - Birthdays Galore!

Hello Darlings!  I'm back!!  How can you not love BC with all its mother nature glory. This weekend, was all about pre summer fun.  Thank goodness for baby sunscreen and flowy hats, as Sophia is definitely a beach baby.

 

 

Saturday, about 15 of us went up to Harrison to celebrate my bday.  We secured a perfect spot that was mostly sun, but my brother gave me an amazing Oasis Sun Shelter from MEC - so Sophie would have shade no matter where we were.  This was also perfect as it protected Sophie (and our bags) from the crazy Harrison wind frenzy's.  It also prevents bugs and packs into the tiniest container, so thank you Bryan for my new found outdoors necessity.

 

 

 

 

We also unleashed my new kite!  Hello Sharknado 3.

 

Sunday, we attended Ruby's first birthday.  This was a plaid/gingham outdoor picnic, full of Raffi songs, and moms saying 'I really want to nap - but I'd much rather socialize with adults'.  Speaking of Raffi - I'm still singing Baby Beluga, and Three Little Ducks is not leaving my head.  This was our first baby party since having Sophie, so I absorbed and reflected on it way much more.  Sophies first birthday is in December, so I doubt we will be having a back yard picnic - but I'm already kinda planning it in my head :)  Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!

Weekending - Sea To Sky Lovin & Cinco

Hello Lovelies and Hello May!

 

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend.  Saturday we went on a Sea to Sky Highway road trip, and stopped in Furry Creek for some hiking and pacific ocean beach picnic fun.  It was such a gorgeous day, and Sophie loved the new beach side adventures :)

Sunday was all about Cinco De Mayo!  We had a few friends over for Ceviche, Tequila Pops, Spanish Sangria and tacos for days.  Sophie loved all the new faces and was full of smiles,  laughs and baby talk. 

 

It was also my Aunt Lindas birthday yesterday, who lives a few cities away.  Although I didn't see her over the weekend, I thought I'd share one of her favorite memories of me.  She loves to tell people how I used to sleep over and watch Figure Skating with her, and I'd always be saying 'Is he hot,' 'Would you date him,' or 'Would he be your boyfriend'.  Clearly I was boy crazy and way too into men with femme bodies covered in glitter and sequins.  The only thing that I think could rescue me is the resemblance of Elvis Stojko to AC Slater - even if I was always team Zack.

 

 

Weekending - Goodbye April

Weekend wrap up as we say goodbye to April and Hello to May!

 

This weekend, we day tripped our way over to good ol Sasquatch Lake.  We've actually never been there, so it was a family firstie.  Hardly anyone was there, maybe like a handful at the entire lake - which meant I could unleash my inner shyness and I breastfed in public for the first time.  Every time we go out, I always bottle feed her, as I'm scared for those judging eyes of people watching me boob my daughter.  Since no one was even close to us, I finally got the chance to breastfeed her in the great outdoors.

Aside from that, it was a great little mini road trip, and Sophie was full of smiles the entire time.  We also finally remembered to bring out our binoculars we bought so long ago.

I also finally made my way to a fancy craft beer store AND FOUND MY SRIRACHA BEER!  Weekend nights just got better, full of strong dark beer carbs.  I've also decided to use larger pics on my blog, as resizing them all from Instagram is kind of annoying to do when you're half paying attention to your blog while attending to your baby.  Hello mom life, and hello new larger pics on my blog.  Happy weekend lovelies!
