Weekend Recap - 8 Weeks with Night Fury

Hello lovelies,  I feel like its been such a great long weekend!  Monday was Family Day here in BC, so Nicholas got an extra day off work - and what made it extra special was that it's our first Family Day celebrating as a Family :)

Here are some highlights from our long weekend :)

Sophia

She turned 8 weeks old on sunday!  She's such a happy, healthy baby who is now realizing how important it is to be up during the day, and sleep at night.  Weekend mornings, Nicholas always takes over once she is up anytime after 7am.. (she usually wakes up around 6am for a feeding, and then is passed out til 8am or 9am anyways), so Nick usually gets to sleep in til 9.  So come Saturday morning, I wake up around 9amish and see Nicholas and Sophie having morning talks.  It's so precious, as it's the first time Nick has got to experience that first hand with her new found babbles she started making, especially in the morning.  I could see how excited Nick was that he got to communicate with her, and that's all he talked about Saturday morning.  What made it even better, is that he got to have it sunday and Monday morning to.  She can hold her head all on her own now too!  She still cant sit up on her own, so we still provide her with back support, but it makes feeding so much easier.  Did I mention how much she loves to smile!

Yours Truly

Our local mall has this contest going on right now called #findthelove - where you have to find this big ol love ball and IG a pic of you with it, for a chance to win an amazing Valentines day gift basket filled with goodies.  My gf and I hit it up the mall this weekend to take our love pics :)

Nicholas & I finally got our kitchen island barstools!  I've been meaning to get these forever(especially since we don't even have a kitchen table in our condo).  I'm so glad I procrastinated long enough, as the ones I wanted went on sale for 1/2 price.  Total score!  At least now we actually have somewhere other than our sectional to sit at and enjoy our meals.  Plus, it makes our kitchen island look so much more complete, and a perfect addition for when we entertain guests.

So everyone watched the Grammys right?  I'm definitely glad we have a PVR so I could record the return of Walking Dead to watch after the show.

So red carpet right.  There were many familiar faces walking the carpet, I could hardly keep up.  The only one I seriously loved h2t was Gwen.  She looked flawless in her drop crotch jumpsuit, and her hair and makeup was perfection.

I don't even know where to start with Kanye.  I'm sure by now everyone has seen the clip of Kanye walking up on stage when Beck won, Jay-Z reaction face or even worse - the interview that followed on E.  I cant believe how disrespectful he is.  But I'm not going to talk about the negative - so instead Ill talk about how awesome it was to see Hozier & Annie Lenox perform!  That was my fave performance of the night and they killed it.  I also loved John Legend and Common perform Glory.  Seriously, those 2 need to perform duets more often.

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend - 4 more days to Valentines Day!

  1. Sophia is just adorable. You'll have to share pictures of your bar stools. It took us over a year before we decided on ours. Definitely makes the kitchen feel more complete, for sure!

    1. Thanks Leslie, Ill definitely take some pics once I have the island complete (need a runner & and some kind of fun accent). It took us since September! I found them 2 months in, but having a baby and all kind of post poned ordering them

  2. Hozier and Annie Lennox were killer. Some pairings get weird (Jessie J and Tom Jones?) but those two were spectacular. Also - watching Annie Lennox makes me all I-am-woman-hear-me-roar, is that just me?

    1. She is epic. I feel the same way when I hear a timeless lady. I saw Stevie Nicks about 3 years ago live, and I was like OMG. And it was outdoors, and there was a beer garden, and Bill Clinton joined.
